TANG 2025 Pledge Drive

Help us reach last year's incredible achievement of $80,000!

Dear TANG Family,

On behalf of the entire TANG leadership team, I am so delighted to welcome you to the TANG/TACEC 2026 Summer Conference. It’s wonderful to see so many faces, new and familiar, gathered here today. Also, our continued partnership with TACEC is something we deeply value and appreciate. A huge thank you is also due to every volunteer, donor, and staff member whose dedication has brought this conference to life.

Our rotating theme for this year is Growth, which focuses on improving oneself and understanding where you want to be in the future. That future could be five years from now, one year from now, or even just next week. With that in mind comes this year's theme: What's Next?

This is a personal mantra I have carried with me for years. It has helped me make decisions more quickly and ensured that I am consistently striving to improve myself. During difficult periods, it encourages me to look ahead, and during the good times, it motivates me to keep the momentum going. This leads us to our Taiwanese theme: Marching Forward (Hiòng-chiân Kiâⁿ / 向前行).

For our Taiwanese theme, we were inspired by Marching Forward, the 1990 Hokkien pop album by Lim Giong. The music video evokes a sense of nostalgia with its flash mob in the middle of Taipei Main Station and its quintessential 1990s fashion. "Marching Forward" reminds listeners that no matter where life takes them, they should move ahead with courage, hope, and pride in who they are. The song has become a symbol of perseverance and the ongoing journey of defining what it means to be Taiwanese.

As we spend these next few days together, we invite you to embrace the spirit of Marching Forward. Whether you're taking your first steps into the TANG community or continuing a journey that has spanned many years, this weekend is an opportunity to reflect on for ourselves, our community, and future generations. Let us move forward together with purpose, curiosity, and confidence as we ask ourselves: What's Next?
