Sprouts
(1st - 3rd Grade)
The Sprouts Program is a safe and nurturing environment for children through Grades 1 to 3.
We encourage that a child’s developmental age should not be discouraging or have to be a tough experience for them, but an opportunity to learn, cooperate, and enjoy the various activities and other individuals that this program gathers and provides.
We organize campers through smaller groups of 4-6 that are led by a pair of Sprouts Counselors to provide the correct amount of attention to each camper during the entire course of TANG. The decision to split a large group of campers into smaller groups allows for a more personal experience for each child and a method to keep control over the entire body as a whole.
The Counselors have been trained to provide the correct amount of supervision over meals, showers, hygiene, and positive environment interaction. If a child is homesick and requires their parents, they will be able to see their parents at any time, and a counselor will be stationed to keep them company until said parent arrives. Afterwards, they will be personally escorted back to the main group.
Programming is developed through dedicated volunteers, staff, and guest speakers, and these life lessons are reinforced through workshops and small group activities. Our campers and staff learn about Growth, Identity, Family, and Community together, learning from one another. These campers are encouraged to be free and allow themselves to foster both relationships with other campers and their counselors for a more enjoyable experience.
